News (ok maybe only news for me)! i might not have to extend! but that'll mean i'll have to fly back here within 3 or 4 days that im back, but who cares! i wanna go home! even if its for awhile. yea cos ive gotta go pay my bills and change my clothes. ergh.i am nadi; :] at 12:39 PM
i miss home and everyone back there. the trips up and down are getting stale. and just in case youre wondering, im extending my stay for 2 more days. and to think i was getting myself all psyched up last night, cos i was finally going to be able to leave this stupid place and head to bkk (another stupid place), only to find out that boss is coming and im extending. chiang mai and b's coming is causing me mental stress and i feel retarded having to write about this to let it out. for now, im not even hoping to get back to singapore, just bangkok is fine. just bangkok is fine.i am nadi; :] at 12:08 PM

it took them 3 weeks, 40 animators, and 3.5 tons of clay to finish this.

does it take it twice, or thrice to make it a coincidence?within a matter of 3 days, i came across the same story told twice, both in a different context, and even a different country.
this story, about the scorpion and the frog, in which the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across the river, and promises and not to sting him. frog agrees. halfway across the river, scorpion stings frog. drowning frog (and scorpion) asks him why he broke his promise knowing that they would both drown. scorpion says, its his nature to sting.
truthfully, ive never heard this story till i read it in a book (which happens to be a few days back). the story kinda lingered in my mind for a while, a few days in fact, and then, while watching Duck Season (stupid show show that put me to sleep even before it ended) also a few days back, this story was told by one of the characters in the show. so i kinda jerked up from my half-sleep and was like, eh. didnt i just read that a few days back?

the family was over at pak husin's house for raya and he bongkar-ed all the gambar-gambar lama from arwah nenek's collection, so we managed to smuggle a few (albums) back home, and i picked out some random photos which i wanted to share. cos i thought i was pretty cute lah.
of course, it started out with this. my parent's pernikahan. my brother now wears the blue baju my dad was wearing.
with my nek otek at one month old.
and my glorious days of being an only child,
till my brother iskandar came along...
with atuk, kak jun, and is.
and the balcony gang. atuk with khairul, kak jijah, kak jun, kak nana, mamat and me.
mak adi used to dress me up and make me pose in front of the camera so much that every other picture i have of me as a child is either in a swimsuit, or my mother's pearls and clothes, or with tons of makeup, yea you get the drift.
and after playing dress up. she gets the boys to stand in frame with me. my 2 boys, khairul and mamat. now u know where my makcikness comes from lah.

and of course there's that series of polaroids. spot the infamous mr rabbit ;)

my mum's 21st birthday with the joo chiat gang. i dont even think thats all of them.
and it just so happened that this got stuck somewhere in the stack of old old photos. this not so old but old enough photo of my little baby brother ahmad.
there were no photos of belle cos she was in the next generation, but i remembered her as a realllllyyy cute baby. i used to dress her up with makeup and mother's hazana too. hur hur. so till i find the time to dig for more photos, i guess this will do. at least it'll help me get through lonely chiang mai nights (which starts again on monday) :(

eid mubarak to fellow muslims,pictures when i find the time.

first day back at work since i got back from chiang mai, and after a weekend of gluttony, i just wanna say, i had too much curry for one day. japanese curry with rice for lunch at the food court, and chicken curry makan dengan roti for dinner. plus the nauseating cab ride back home in between, which i think came from the driver's bad body odour (plus the open wounds of pus and i dont wanna know what else, from what i assumed was a bike accident or an act of idiocracy falling on rough pavement by just walking; i cldve sworn i smelt the pus from the aircon blowing at it), now all i wanna do is really just barf stomach out. omg, wldnt it be great if all the lontong and rendang and lodeh and air coke from the last 2 days came out along with it. that wld save me at least a good 5 kilos off the scale.
geez.

i had some extra time today and i needed to take my mind off work a little, so i decided to watch my very first thai movie in a cinema.
no, theyre cinemas are not icky, theyre just like ours in spore, maybe even nicer and with seats that are more comfortable. ive seen this movie poster around for quite some time, so i wouldnt really complain that they were only running 5 shows in the cinemas, cos i was pretty much decided on what to watch.
even though the standing up part (in respect of the king) before the show started kinda made me terperanjat a bit, everything else was pretty much the same, and plus, the movie, 'Sailub' (or in english "Bedside Detective"), was hillarious i tell you. ive never had such a consistent time laughing throughout a show. every single bit of the script was just perfectly witted with sarcasm, and goofy humour. even though the cast could be better looking in terms of thai standards (which is pretty high), they were pleasant enough to look at, and well yah, there were enough booby shots and men dancing on podium scenes.
im not sure if this will ever air in spore on sell on vcd/dvd locally, but for those of you interested to take a sneak, clickety click click below.

time: 5.15 ami get really ticked off when it rains and im not able to sleep in. like right about now, cos i have to go get ready and leave yet again, for the land of the king. i usually force myself to come out with all sorts of excuses just to sleep in that little bit, but i guess i wldnt go that far, just so i would miss my flight (cos i'd be delighted if itgets delayed, or even better; CANCELLED). not that im esctatic to go in the first place.
